Nike has always been about sports and fitness, but over the past year, the company have expanded their brand into other things such as fashion, music, and art without losing its main structure. Its social media presence has also given it a platform to promote itself without having to do much.
Over the years Nike has created a lot of campaigns both online and offline. Nike has a presence on both little and large screens. Nike’s enormous success as a top sports gear business is unsurprising. Each Nike ad offers a unique tale and takes the viewer on a unique journey. Nike advertisements are successful. To establish a dedicated fan base, they rely on telling meaningful tales. Nike uses “emotional branding” to make customers feel something. Ads are carefully developed to trigger certain emotions and make Nike items more significant in the eyes of buyers.
Nike advertisement campaign videos are not long clips, they capture the audience’s attention and pass across their messages within a short time frame. What makes Nike different from other sports brands? In my opinion, Nike is the king of trainers and sportswear. Nike understands what its customers want and uses its marketing campaigns to seduce its customers. Nike is for everyone, and its marketing campaigns targets everyone – there is no specific age targeted.
Nike isn’t just killing it with their advertisement campaign; they are also killing it on social media. They’re all over social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, Pinterest, TikTok, and LinkedIn. Nike is much more than just a sportswear company. It’s a brand that encourages us to be physically active and maintain a healthy lifestyle in our daily lives. On Instagram, Nike has 196M followers and keeps its followers entertained by posting constantly. Whilst conducting my research, I found out that Nike posts every two days and sometimes multiple videos in a day. Nike also makes use of Instagram features such as reels and shorts to keep its followers entertained.
Nike also has different accounts on social media platforms, for example on Instagram, if you type in Nike, you will find different profiles that cater to different things. For example, on Instagram, there is Nike, NikeLondon, Nikefootball etc. It also features on other social media platforms as well.
How do Nike marketing campaigns relate to my campaign? I can relate because Nike have given me an insight into what people want to see and how to get people’s attention. The most important thing for my media campaign is to keep my audience entertained. As I found out with Nike, consistency is key. I will make sure my reels and videos are short and straight to the point while capturing my audience’s attention.
When I created my Instagram page, adding a profile picture was the first thing I did. Having a profile picture is important because it makes it easy for your audience to find you. Also, without a profile picture, Instagram can tag my account as spam. I completed my first artwork piece and posted it on my Instagram account.
