Over the next few weeks for this module, I will be creating a social media campaign titled, “Da new age”. This project will be uploaded on my personal website. To create my personal website, I will be using the website developer WordPress. The first thing I will do is register a domain name and pay for hosting.
For this media campaign, social media is vital as it will help me promote myself as an artist all while bringing traffic to my website. The social media platforms I will be using for this project will be Instagram and LinkedIn.
Why are these social media platforms appropriate for this campaign? I have chosen these platforms because from personal experience, Instagram is the best platform for an artist as it provides features such as reels, and shorts which allows an artist to document their work in whichever way they choose. Instagram reels predominantly allow the user to share videos for up to 60 seconds. Reels also provide lots of editing features that a user can use to create their work.
I personally haven’t used LinkedIn but from the little knowledge I have, I feel this will be a nice experience for me. The more I continue to use LinkedIn the more I will learn about what features it offers to an artist. This is something I look forward to.
What is Da new age? As I continue to develop my skills as an artist da new age is an era of new art styles, designs and entertainment within my field of work. How is this relevant to this Campaign project? With the Da new age project, I will create a series of artwork that will be posted on my website. The idea behind it is to create an artwork album, which is something I have not seen another digital artist do before. Da new age doesn’t limit my work to just artwork but it is also about design and entertainment which will be included on my website.
As an artist, I must make sure I create things that are challenging to me. Da new age permits me to do so.
Each week I will paint different artwork with unique names. I will post these pieces on my website and my social media platforms. I will create time-lapse videos and clips that show me in my element of creating the artwork. To save time, I will make sure the artwork pieces are simple yet creative. On Instagram, I will post pictures of my artwork, reels of me having fun whilst creating my artwork. On LinkedIn, I can’t really post about my development as it is a professional platform.
So, what are the next steps forward for this media campaign? The first thing will be to create social media platforms. I will register a new Instagram account; using the username “Da New Age” so that people would find the project easily. The next step will be to register and start developing my personal website for this campaign. Designing and creating a website can take time so I will ensure I manage my time wisely.
