Over the course of thirteen weeks, I have learnt what marketing campaigns are, and how to start one. Each week we analyse and talk about the dos and don’ts when making a marketing campaign. I have created my own campaign and titled it, “Da new age” using the information I have learnt from my lecturer and from this module.

Social media is an important aspect when creating a campaign. Social media is important because it allows the audience to learn more about the campaign. For my campaign, I have created two social media platforms and a website. The social media platforms I have used for this campaign are Instagram and LinkedIn. Instagram offers me tools that I can use to develop my campaign. Each week I try to post on Instagram because consistency is important as I have found out. LinkedIn on the other hand is more of a professional social media platform. LinkedIn allows me to socially network with professional people in my field.

I created a new Instagram account for the campaign to start fresh and post new content. LinkedIn doesn’t offer me as much freedom as Instagram does due to the nature of the platform.

What I like about using Instagram for my campaign is the video tool it offers; I use reels to showcase some of my work. I like using reels because it is simple and easy to use. A reason why I don’t like using Instagram for my campaign is because of the algorithm system it uses.

Each week I uploaded on Instagram; I slowly began to get followers.

For my campaign, I created a website. To create my website, I used the system software WordPress. I used WordPress because it is simple and easy to use. To create my website, I registered for a domain name and paid for hosting. The domain name and hosting didn’t cost me much money. All together I spent £2 on both my domain name and hosting

In this module, I have learned the factors that make a marketing campaign successful and unsuccessful. I looked into two different marketing campaigns, one that was successful and one that wasn’t successful. The successful marketing campaign brand I looked at was Nike, I analysed the techniques Nike use to make it a successful brand and have incorporated that into my campaign. On the other hand, I looked at the Pepsi Tv spot from 2017 featuring Kendall Jenner. I researched what made it an unsuccessful marketing campaign and made sure to avoid making the same mistakes within my campaign. 

Overall, I have enjoyed this module and have learned a lot. There are still things I can improve on for example using a more sociable platform than LinkedIn. Next time I will ensure I post more content on my Instagram platform.

Everything that I have learnt through this campaign will be used for future projects so that I learn from my mistakes. For example, I learned that time management is crucial, and that I should prioritise various areas of my job to ensure that everything is completed on time and to a good standard.
